Club Championship Show 2018

Breed specialist judge ~ Mrs. Ann Gates (Eagleridge) UK

I should like to thank the club for inviting me to judge your show, your hospitality is seconded to none
the weather was perfect and the exhibitors accepted my placements with good humour, and great sportsmanship.
I should also like to thank my steward Joan for looking after me on the day.

I would like to make the following comments and I hope they will be taken as constructive observations.
Anyone who knows me well will know that I am sadden by the fact that a lot of the dogs being bred now are very border line on the colour scale of wheaten.
Heads are in some cases becoming narrower and our standard does ask for skull to be flat and rather broad between the ears.
I found all ridges, mouths and temperament excellent and felt your dogs; size wise fit the standard, as there is a tendency in some kennels to think bigger is best.

My last comment is again one of my pet hates (bare with me folks I’ve been around dogs a long time). I hate to see dogs strung up, I’m sure Dennis has taken some lovely photos
and my winner just filled my eye as she stood there on a loose lead just demanding to be admired.

Once again thank you I had a lovely day and I will remember your show as one of my happiest judging appointments. For a small club you are Ace.
